Excursion to the memorial complexes "Khatyn" and "Kurgan Slavy" reminded the cadets of the most important tragic and heroic events of the Great Patriotic War.
Cadets 1 "B" of the course of the faculty of militia took part in the trip. On the territory of Khatyn there is the only "Graveyard of villages" in the world - 185 graves, each of which symbolizes one of the unregenerated Belarusian villages burnt together with the population, the 186th grave is Khatyn itself. The guide told to guests about the terrible times, when every third citizen of our country perished in the struggle for the independence of the Motherland, introduced the bronze sculpture "The Unconquered Man". The child on his hands remains forever in the memory of everyone who saw this majestic monument. The cadets touched to their depths the sad ringing of the Khatyn's bells. On a square mourning pedestal in three corners there are three birches, instead of the fourth one there is an eternal flame - in memory of every third dead inhabitant of Belarus. The memorial plates bear the names of concentration camps and places of mass destruction of people on the territory of Belarus, terrible figures - the number of deaths.
The memorial complex "Kurgan Slavy" with all its greatness confirms the heroism of the people, recalls the soldiers who gave their lives for the sake of the Great Victory. Similar excursions for cadets of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are held often - everyone should remember the history of the Motherland.
